Narabri is the daughter of famed Papunya Tula artist, the late Makinti Napanangka. Narabri began painting in 1999, and lived with her husband and family at Kintore until her untimely death in 2010, shortly before her famous mother.
Her style was heavily influenced by that of Makinti, particularly in the use of straight lines representing sand hills (tali) and her exploration of themes associated with Lupulnga, the woman‘s ceremonial site that her mother was custodian of. In recent years Narabri had really started to experiment with different ways of intepreting her stories, using thick expressive strokes and vivid colours, occasionally collaborating with her mother.
