Description

Paddy was a stockman until 1962, working at stations throughout the Northern territory from Mataranka to Oenpelli, Goulburn Island and Milingimbi. When Aboriginal rights to citizenship came through in 1962, Paddy returned to his relations in Beswisk, where in th 1980’s he began committing his stories to bark. Having moved to canvas, paper, linen and murals Paddy became and acclaimed artist. He is renowned for his distinctive portrayals of Mimi spirits. They are brilliant displays of lucid communication of traditional Aboriginal culture. His work continues to be exhibitied and collected internationally.
